Signs & symptoms
Signs and symptoms of type 2 diabetes often develop slowly and are sometimes subtle. In fact, patients can have type 2 diabetes for years and not know it. Some of these signs and symptoms include:
Increased thirst
Frequent urination
Increased hunger
Unintended weight loss
Fatigue
Blurred vision
Unusual odor to urine
Slow-healing sores
Frequent infections
Areas of darkened skin, usually in the armpits, neck and groin
Chronic signs and symptoms include fungal infections of the skin, difficulty with sexual function and numbness, tingling or burning sensation in the feet.
