Graft thrombosis (10 - 20%)
Transplant Pancreatitis (3 %)
Anastomotic leak (4 %)
Reoperation ( 20%)
Late complications
Graft Rejection
Pancreas : 15 - 21% at 1-year and 27-30 % at 5 years
Kidney : 10 % at 1-year and 20% at 5 years
Standard bacterial, viral and fungal infections
Most of these complications can be managed conservatively and hence the patient needs to be in regular follow-up of the transplant team after surgery.
